You only have access to one level at a time, so all four tricks in that level must be cleared before you can do the next four, and so on. There are 12 per level, grouped into three categories - rookie, semi-pro, and pro. In each level there is a series of challenges to be accomplished. Players jump in a chartered bus and travel across America, hitting cities like Las Vegas, New Orleans, Boston and Chicago. with BMX video clips in thrown in between. The single-player mode is presented as a good old-fashioned road trip, moving from level to level across the U.S.A. Included in the game are Hoffman, Mike Escamilla, Cory Nastazio, Kevin Robinson, Simon Tabron, Seth Kimbrough, Nate Wessel, Ruben Alcantara, Joe Kowalski, Rick Thorne and Day Smith. The interface is built around a rendered garage that features the game's professional BMXers hanging out inside. If you've played a Hawk game, Pro BMX 2 is going to be a breeze to master. The same basic premise exists on both types of titles: run around and do tricks off of everything in sight.
